Biography

Serol Yapici is a visionary oboist and soloist known for his expressive performances and boundary- pushing programming. A graduate of Conservatorium Maastricht, where he earned both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees cum laude, Serol is based in the Netherlands and has performed as a soloist on renowned stages across Europe, including the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, Sweden and Turkey, as well as at prestigious festivals such as Grachtenfestival Amsterdam (NL) and Ostbelgien Festival (BE).

In 2024, Serol made his soloist debut at the prestigious Philharmonie Luxembourg with Orchestre de Chambre du Luxembourg and released his debut album Serendipity with TRPTK record label. The album Serendipity, alongside his own never-before-recorded arrangements for oboe and piano, also features the world premiere of an original oboe work by Dutch composer Cor de Groot. The album was featured as Album van de Week on NPO Klassiek, where he also gave a live performance and interview, followed by a dedicated broadcast on TRT Radio (TR).

In 2026, his second album Serotiny was released. Alongside explorations of a new sound concept combining oboe and felt piano in several works, the album brings to light rarely known hidden gems of classical music, introducing them into the oboe repertoire as world premiere recordings, never before performed or recorded on the oboe. Expanding on the artistic vision of his debut CD Serendipity, selections from Serotiny have already been featured in Spotify and Deezer’s classical music playlists.

Serol Yapici’s artistry transcends the boundaries of genre, seamlessly intertwining Baroque elegance, Romantic lyricism, and contemporary innovation, often enriched by his own arrangements that expand the oboe repertoire, creating an immersive and unforgettable concert experience. Beyond the stage, Serol is a dedicated pedagogue, mentoring the next generation of musicians through his teaching roles in Germany and the Netherlands, as well as through international masterclasses.
